We requested unsigned acts... and we received them by the bucket-load!
Following an overwhelming response (we had the biggest response to date, with a myriad of entries received from all over the UK and Europe), The Jessica Foxley Unsigned judging panel chose 8 finalists to open our main stages this summer.
Here's what some of the artists involved had to say:
Robert J Hunter Band
"The Robert J Hunter Band are chuffed to be able to bring our dirty blues to Colne this August, huge thanks to Jessica Foxley Unsigned for choosing us".
"Along with many other artists, we submitted our recordings to secure the opportunity to be chosen to play on the main stage at The Great British Rhythm and Blue Festival in August. We were absolutely delighted to hear that we had been successful, it always great to have other people appreciate the work and effort we have put into creating the music... and look forward to seeing everyone there".
Tom McCartney Music
"I'm enthralled to be taking part in the Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival this year. Ever since the age of 14, when I started discovering the blues, I've had the ambition to break on the UK Blues scene. Thanks to the 'Jessica Foxley Unsigned Project'; this is a perfect opportunity to showcase myself to a larger blues orientated audience".
The 8 bands open the main stages on both Saturday and Sunday.
