Ones to watch - Coco Montoya

Sunday, 23rd August 2015

Europe’s Best Blues Festival is now less than a week away! Starting on August 28th, we’ll have over 600 artistes performing at nine Official Venues over four days.

With so many talented musicians performing over the August Bank Holiday weekend, you’d be forgiven for not knowing who to watch. That’s why for the last couple of months we’ve been giving you a different ‘one to watch’ each week as a prelude to the Festival itself. We’ve already brought you some of the biggest names and talents in Blues music, including the likes of Avery Sunshine, Eugene Hideaway BridgesPat McManusTommy Castro and more. But the big names don’t stop there…

Many people have been turning to social media to express their excitement for this artiste who will be the final act on our International Stage on Friday 28th August.

Hailing from California, Coco Montoya was always destined for Blues greatness following a chance meeting with the legendary Albert Collins. Coco played drums for Collins for five years and then went on to perform as John Mayall’s guitarist.

It came as no surprise that the success followed Coco as he went solo. Famed for his powerful guitar solos and striking voice, Coco is renowned the world-over not only as a Blues musician, but as a leading musician.

You name a country, he’s played there. Coco is currently on the final leg of his worldwide tour and will stop off at Europe’s Best Blues Festival following performances in France, Norway, Poland Spain and every corner of the United States.

This is a rare opportunity for English Blues fans to see a true great from the international scene and certainly not one to be missed.

Coco Montoya will definitely be ‘one to watch’ at this year’s Festival. Get your tickets here.
