The Dressers

The Dressers is the latest addition to the festivals official roadhouse venues, today an iconic name locally for a club that has been at 2 Hall Street, Colne for well over a century. The long established clubs origins were back in the late Victorian era when 'The association of warpdressers' began a men only club for the many local millworkers.

The Hall Street venue soon became known far and wide as 'The Dressers'. Over the years the club has had hundreds of members and during the 1940's and 50's the legendary 'Dressers Brains Trust' brought in huge crowds and in 1949 proudly, was featured on BBC T.V.

The club is little changed over the years with the original bar fixtures and wonderful ambience. Ladies are now welcomed into the club and the current host is the friendly and popular Diane Monk. The festival welcomes the Dressers as it's 8th Official Venue.
