2011 was a great year as we welcomed to the festival’s international stage some legendary names in the Blues scene, as well as some fresh new talent on our ‘Jessica Foxley Stage’ – celebrating new, unsigned bands and the Best of British.

Some of last years acts include:

THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE
Mavis Staples at Colne R&B Festival
Mavis Staples
Straight from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Grammy Lifetime Award Winner, Mavis Staples beleives that ‘every song tells a story…’ and she had our crowds mesmerised with her amazing deep-rooted and emotional performance.

THE BRITISH STAGE
The Treatment at Colne R&B Festival
The Treatment feat. Tom Attah
Tom Attah’s legendary band of session musicians took the British Stage by storm with an explosive performance to bring to a close another year of this Best of British stage.

THE ACOUSTIC STAGE
Cherry Lee Mewis at Colne R&B Festival
Cherry Lee Mewis
A truly magnetic singer and songwriter, Cherry performed on both the British stage and the Acoustic stage at last years festival showcasing her true diversity and musical talent.

THE ADMIRAL LORD RODNEY
The Welsh T Band at Colne R&B Festival
The Welsh T Band
Firm fringe and festival favourites The Welsh T Band are a cracking band of seasoned musicians that both kick-started and ended the roadhosue series of venues at last years festival with their ‘tour de force’ of blues music.

THE CROWN
The Welsh T Band at Colne R&B Festival
Nick Dow’s Blues Band
Straight out of the BBC Radio Lancashire studio on Friday night’s British Stage takeover and straight into The Crown for more of his great ‘old-time’ R&B.  A true guitarist and raconteur with a great taste in music!

COLNE & NELSON RUFC
The Welsh T Band at Colne R&B Festival
The Alligators
Self titled as ‘a big bite of blues from the swamps of East Yorkshire’ The Alligators brought down the house (or the tent!) at the RUFC with their old-time R&B set which saw people literally dancing on the tables!

THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION
The Welsh T Band at Colne R&B Festival
The Hexmen
“High octane R&B of the highest order” claimed Lucas Campbell.  Liverpool-based, they go back to the early 80′s and their blues is definately something to watch out for, especially for all you Dr. Feelgood fans!

THE DRESSERS
The Welsh T Band at Colne R&B Festival
The Hokum Hotshots
Not just a festival favourite but an institution in their own right!  Always welcomed returned visitors to the festival the Hokum Hotshots are masters of their art, and always up for the crack!

Ahem, the Alligators are from the deepest darkest swamps of East YORKSHIRE, not Lancashire, you could start a war with mistakes like that!!
