CELEBRATING INSPIRATIONAL WOMEN

In celebration of International Women’s Day 🎶

We’d love to use today to celebrate inspirational women… and to enjoy a huge ‘cheers’ to all the incredible female musical talent everywhere, especially those we have lined up as part of our festival this August.

Paddy Maguire, festival musical director ~ “We’re extremely proud of our 2019 line up and of the array of female talent which will grace our stages this year. Roll on August!”

Just some of the female musicians involved –

Sari Schorr – “charismatic vocals set against hard-driving blues-rock”

Beaux Gris Gris – New Orleans inspired, American blues-folk-soul band created by Louisiana-born-and-raised musician Greta Valenti

Betty and The Bootleggers – Queen of this fabulously authentic 1950’s rhythm ‘n’ blues, rock ‘n’ roll, blues and rockabilly band is powerhouse Betty Wilde

Dana Ali Band – Dana takes elements of soul, jazz, blues and R&B, with Latin and funk rhythms, to create a fresh and distinctive sound.

Jade Like The Stone – Jade voice is a large melting pot which informs and influences her music to unparalleled effect; from opera to folk and blues.

James & Black – “For those who had never seen Otis Redding or Aretha Franklin perform, go to a concert of Bruce James and Bella Black.

Katie Bradley and Richard Lane – Their music is timeless in feel and features Ritchie’s sublime resonators with Katie Bradley’s distinctive vocals and harmonica.

Ma Bessie & Her Pig Foot Band – Mixing Julia’s rich, warm vocal sound with a dynamic band – these folk mix classic blues and jazz tunes from the inter-war years, with a selection of original songs and hand-picked covers from the last 50 years of popular music.

Terri Shaltiel Band – “Quite simply a force of nature with undeniable vocal power…”

Waiting For Wednesday – Feisty female duo with sweet and husky voices harmonising distinctively within their stirring songs on living, loving and losing.
