In Celebration Of International Women’s Day 2020

We would like to use International Women’s Day to celebrate women’s achievements in music… and to enjoy a huge ‘cheers’ to all the incredible female talent we have lined up as part of our festival this August.

Paddy Maguire, festival artist coordinator, commented “We’re extremely proud of our line up and of the huge array of female talent which will grace our stages this year.”

Just some of the female talent involved –

Kyla Brox – Kyla’s voice remains a stunning example of the soul-blues singer’s art; she is, without doubt, the most authentic UK blues and soul singer of her generation.

Layla Zoe – Layla offers ​deep and powerful music that comes from the deepest part of a human soul.

Buck & Evans – Fronted by Sally-Ann Evans, this sensational band brings Fleetwood Mac-esque reverie, pulsating grooves, swirling guitars and soaring harmonies.

Crossfire – Fronted by young powerhouse vocalist Alice Armstrong. Hers is a huge vocal range, emotive delivery and big stage presence guaranteeing a purely memorable performance.

Diana Silveira – A captivating, ‘lived-in’, unique soulful voice belonging to a young angelic musician, with a captivating, unrivalled stage presence.

Ma Bessie & Her Pig Foot Band – Mixing a rich, warm vocal sound with a dynamic band – that look as well as sound the part – Ma Bessie & Her Pig Foot band mix classic blues and jazz tunes from the inter-war years.

Northsyde – Fronted by incredible vocalist Lorna Fothergill, Northsyde have been dubbed as “Stanley Clarke strapped to the front of an Intercity 125 with Janis Joplin driving”

Mojo Preachers – Sultry, seductive vocalist, Sophie Lindsay, interprets the blues with the crispness of Rita Coolidge, the power of Beth Hart and the coolness of Elkie Brooks

Our Mini Muni stage for 2020 is curated by Jade Danille Williams aka Jade Like The Stone, who has combined her love of the blues, classical music and poetry to create a varied and impressive line up, which includes a number of female artists and female fronted acts.
Mini Muni line ups will be announced in the very near future, as will our Roadhouse venue line ups.

The event has also has a whole load of male talent!​
