Beth Makariou

Sunday 25th August 2024

Little Theatre Acoustic Stage | 18:00 – 19:00

Beth Makariou is a 24 year old independent singer-songwriter, based in both London and Leeds. Having recently graduated with a degree specialising in Popular Music Performance from Leeds Arts University, Beth has always played live and recorded within studio settings too, as a solo Jazz/Soul artist and within her Funk band ‘Still Royal’.

She grew up listening to artists such as Carole King, Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell and Amy, singing daily for fun, as well as more formally, in a close harmony singing group from year 7 in school. The group gained lots of experience from performing at live events, through to auditions, TedX talks and even on BBC News in 2018.

Beth has most experience in performing as a solo artist, which expresses her musical ability and style the most. Beth has played in several pub gigs and functions, busked, and played at other live events. She was even a specialist musical actor for live TV in a major episode of Emmerdale in January 2024.

Beth released her first full EP in March 2023, and has also released singles since this, which has led to a range of performances at a number of venues across Leeds, London and Brighton. She has recently performed at venues such as Belgrave Music Hall, Headrow House, Brudenell, Oporto, Royal Park Cellars, Brewdog (Tankyard), Kingston Markets, etc.

“Beth look is very excited for further performances coming this year as she continues to write, record and release more original material. ”
