Barry Jackson started out wanting to be Elvis Presley, but then he caught the blues…
Like most of the blues performers of his generation Barry is self-taught, and an avid listener to recorded blues.
His music features early blues – he says, ‘for me, it’s the stuff recorded just as the rural blues started to get urban – when electric guitars were still pretty new – from around the late 30s to the early 50s. There’s a rawness about it that I love’.
