Mike Vernon & The Mighty Combo

Blues legend – new album release, new tracks; one helluva show at this year’s festival.

Mike Vernon & The Mighty Combo is set to release a new album this September and promises to play new tracks from the album during his set at The Hippodrome.

The new album ‘Beyond The Blues Horizon’ will be released on Manhaton Records​.

Mike Vernon produced albums for some of the most famous artists in British Rock and Blues including John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers (with Eric Clapton​, Peter Green, Mick Taylor), David Bowie​, Ten Years After – Band​ and many more.

In 2013 Mike was awarded the BASCA Gold Badge Award in recognition of his unique contribution to music.

“The debut album ‘Beyond The Blue Horizon’ features tough, energising and tuneful rocking slabs of R&B in the vein of Fats Domino​, Wynonie Harris, Little Richard and Louis Jordan,” says Mike. “Twelve titles in all, including nine new self-penned originals and three covers from the catalogues of Brook Benton, Mose Allison and Clarence Henry.”
