Oli “Mississippi” MacDonald (Mac) is a Soul-Blues singer/songwriter/guitarist from London, England. A three-time UK Blues Federation Acoustic Blues Act Of The Year winner, he was inducted into the UK Blues Hall Of Fame in 2026. In 2024, he also won Traditional Blues Artist Of The Year.
Since signing to APM Records in 2021, Mac has appeared on BBC Radio 2’s Blues Show with Cerys Matthews, showcased on Beale Street, and performed on the legendary King Biscuit Time in Helena, Arkansas. He has recorded with renowned US artists including Vaneese Thomas, Benny Turner, Reverend Shawn Amos, and most recently with Hi Rhythm (Al Green, Ann Peebles, Otis Clay) at Memphis’ Royal Studios, working alongside Grammy Award-winning producer Boo Mitchell.
In 2024, Mississippi joined the Take Me To The River All Stars alongside William Bell, Hi Rhythm, Jools Holland and Eric Gales for an upcoming feature film and performances including Red Rooster Festival. Later that summer, he headlined the Glastonbury Lovefields Stage. In 2025, he appeared at Jazzfest New Orleans with the Take Me To The River All Star Revue, featuring Cyril, Ian and Ivan Neville, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Lina Beach and Taj Mahal, and later performed at London’s Barbican Theatre with Hi Rhythm and Carla Thomas.
Mississippi’s debut APM release, ‘Do Right, Say Right’, was named one of Mojo Magazine’s Top 10 Blues Albums of 2022. His second album, ‘Heavy State Loving Blues’, received major international acclaim, with Blues In Britain calling him “one of the finest modern bluesmen in the U.K.”
The album topped the IBBA Blues Charts in the UK for two consecutive months and charted prominently on the RMR Global Blues Report and Living Blues Magazine charts in the US, alongside extensive airplay including Sirius XM BB King’s Bluesville.
His 2024 album ‘I Got What You Need’ reached number 1 on the RMR Global Soul Blues Chart within a week of release and became the IBBA’s #1 album of November 2024, receiving widespread international airplay including BBC Radio 2.
In April 2025, Mac launched ‘The Oli Mac Show’ on Maritimeradio.co.uk, presenting an hour of soul, blues and gospel each week. On July 4th, 2025, he released ‘Oli Mac Presents – Mississippi MacDonald, Slim Pickin’, which topped the RMR Global Acoustic Blues Charts, with Living Blues Magazine praising his “bone-deep feel for blues.”
In June 2026, Mac will release the first Memphis singles from the forthcoming ‘Oli Mac & Hi Rhythm’ album.
